After a recent lesson on relating with parents, I gave our students several ideas how they could take steps to better honor and obey their mom and dad. One idea was to pray for them every day the following week. I spoke with one parent who was a little nervous when her son asked to speak to her only to be pleasantly surprised when he asked her how he could pray for her! Good things happen when teens are praying for their parents!

Last weekend (October 17th) Wild Kingdom visited the Kuiper’s Family Farms Corn Maze for an afternoon adventure. As our Tuesday night curriculum this fall focuses on learning to share your faith we challenged the middle schoolers to reach out and invite friends who, as far as they can tell, don’t know Jesus. We planned on sharing the Gospel as part of the event. ![]() Corn tassles make great beards! I was so excited to see a bunch of our regular attenders show up with friends in tow who I’ve never met before! I’m looking forward to seeing how God grows the seeds that were planted this past weekend! - Daniel

– I’ll post this one in the words of one of our students: “I have a praise that I couldn’t wait to share! I brought my friend to youth group on Thursday and she turned to me right after Glenn was done talking and said she loved it. I talked to her about it and she said she really liked it, but she didn’t know if she would come back because she hardly knew anyone. But today she texted me asking if she could come again this week if her parents will let her go out. I’m soo happy! I’ve been praying for her for a couple months now so this is soo cool for me! Praise God that He softened her heart to at least put the desire to come back and try it again!” - Glenn

Jan (not her real name) is a student in Ignite! She has experienced a lot of hurt in her young life and like many teens Jan has turned to cutting herself as a way of trying to deal with her pain. Recently, after a Thursday night youth ministry, Jan came up to me to tell me that it has been 14 months since she has cut herself! She shared that she was tempted to cut recently but refused to give into the temptation!! Praise God for His work in her life! - Glenn

I just got off the phone with a parent who has gotten to know several of our youth through her support of the ministry. She’s come across one of these middle schoolers at cross country meets for her own children. As she’s interacted with him at cross country meets she’s developed a relationship which has led to getting to support him through listening and prayer. I love seeing the body of Christ connect organically! -Daniel
